In White Horizons, Henrique Vieira Ribeiro uses private audiovisual elements which he associates original objects in his recording and viewing, questioning the limits of life imagined as a narrative. Thus, layers of return (past, fabled, thanks to the proximity with the original images), suspension (present, the moment of presentation), and resumption (future, the result of narratives built on the fruition of these new images) are invoked. [1]
This reflexion is based on a practice of our antipodes: appropriating “soulless” images (whose origins we don’t know anymore, not having the potential resumption for this reason), as Henrique tests the limits of the conflict between the documental and the primary author identification fiction, with whom he shares the credits for this exhibition.
