In the exhibition Terra e Vento (um equilíbrio) / Earth and Wind (a balance), at Galeria Sá da Costa, the artist Marta Sampaio Soares (Lisbon, 1968) presents a set of drawings. Made in the years, of 2010 and 2011, when she was still studying, they have various formats and use various techniques.

“The gesture of bringing these drawings, made more than 10 years ago, to the public, reveals a new possibility and a new way of seeing. By redeeming the memory of its execution, the artist exposes her own identity, through its possibilities and its fragilities. Without value judgment, and without hierarchy, both characteristics do justice to an expression in constant mutation. It is always when experiencing uncertainty and doubt that it is possible to build something new and unpredictable.”
