The exhibition “Geometrias I & II e outros objetos pictóricos, 2009/2018” by Pires Vieira assembles exemplary works from the last ten years of his artistic practice, from the series “Geometrias II”, 2018, “Geometrias I”, 2016, “Who is afraid of…?”, 2014, “Une image peut en cacher une autre”, 2011, “Polígonos irregulares sobre um tema de Monet”,  2009 e os livros “Janelas um”, e “Janelas”, 2017-18.

“In my work, series function like a portrait gallery to which it might be necessary to come back to, in order to confirm what had been identified or to add that which seemed to have been previously ignored.” Pires Vieira

PIRES VIEIRA (Oporto, 1950). Studied at École des Beaux Arts de Paris and at Université Paris VIII, in the early 70’s. Lives and works in Estoril, Portugal. He held about 45 solo exhibitions and participated over 70 collective exhibitions.
