The show is the result of a \u00a0five-year research on the different blue \u00a0tones of the sky. <\/span><\/p>\n

This \u00a0hybrid \u00a0project, \u00a0combining scientific \u00a0investigation with visual \u00a0experimentation, departs from \u00a0a study on the varying shades \u00a0of the color of the sky when observed \u00a0from heights comprised between zero and 38.000 \u00a0metres above sea level. As atmosphere becomes rarefied \u00a0with increasing altitude, the visible spectre of light changes \u00a0and blue gets progressively darker. <\/span><\/p>\n

Using \u00a0a meteorological \u00a0balloon, the artist \u00a0captured photographs and \u00a0videos upto 38.000 metres \u00a0high. The images from this \u00a0aerial trajectory were later analysed \u00a0and edited by the artist. The final result, \u00a0mixing photography and moving image, canbe seen \u00a0until October 13, at Pra\u00e7a Lu\u00eds de Cam\u00f5es, 22, 4th \u00a0floor<\/span><\/p>\n

.M\u00c1RCIO \u00a0VILELA (Recife, \u00a01978) lives and works \u00a0in Lisbon. In 2016 he graduated \u00a0from the European Master of Fine Art \u00a0Photography of IED (Istituto Europeo di \u00a0Design) Madrid as a scholarship recipient. \u00a0He has made artistic residencies in Azores (Pico \u00a0do Ref\u00fagio, 2015) and Recife, Brasil (Museu de Arte \u00a0Moderna Alo\u00edsio Magalh\u00e3es, 2014).
